After 35 years on the road, I’ve collected countless travel “moments.” Some have been tragic, some foolish, some funny, and some deeply inspiring. These moments have stayed with me for a lifetime. They remind me why I travel, and they reveal the crazy, beautiful, unpredictable world we live in. I know how blessed I’ve been to experience it.

Travel gives you time to think — to make sense of the world in all its chaos and wonder. These stories and reflections grew out of those quiet moments on buses, in airports, on mountain paths, and in places far from home.
